The Protestant Church owes its namesake to the work for Martin Luther, when on October 31, 1517 he nailed his 95 Theses to the Wittenburg Door. On Sunday evening, October 15th, 2017, Dr. Chad Van Doorn will gie a lecture-message on “Luther on Solo Christ: The absolute sufficiency of the Saviour for sinner.”
Dr. Van Dishoorn teaches church history and practical theology at RTS-Washington in McLean, VA. His is the Chancellor’s Professor of Historical Theology for the entire RTS organization which consists of nine campuses as welll as the Global campus.
Chad and his wife, Emily, along with their five children make their home in Vienna, VA. Chad is a graduate of Westminster Theological Seminary (MDiv, ThM), and the University of Cambridge (PhD). Chad has done extensive work in the area of tghe The Westminster Assembly. He authored a five-volume work on the Westminster Assembly, published by Oxford University Press. He is a minister in the Orthodox Presbyterian Church.
I have had the privilege of taking several classes with Dr. Van Dixhoorn as well as sharing meals and classes in his home. I look forward to Dr. Van Dixhoorn coming to share with us at Atonement, and I highly recommend for each congregant to put this date on your calendar.
