Welcome to our website!
Since you are here, you likely are thinking about visiting Church of the Atonement. That’s great! Here's a brief overview of what you will find when you come.
On any given Sunday, we have people here who are being exposed to Christianity for the first time. Beside them may be mature Christians. That’s beautiful. Over 80% of newcomers who become members of Atonement were not members of any church when they first visited. Many have attended other churches at points in their lives, some have never been in church before. Every time someone visits us, we feel honored and stand ready with a sincere welcome and desire to make new friends. See if you don’t experience this from your first visit. When you first arrive, you will meet people from many nations who find common ground in Christ. Some have suffered greatly for their values and their faith so they had to flee for their lives. American-born Christians are deeply enriched by these brothers and sisters.
If you come with children looking for ministry for your family, you will be pleased to know that Children and Family Ministries as well as Youth and Family Ministries are here to support you, are well led by staff, and served by a large number of volunteers.
Visiting a church for the first time can feel especially daunting for single, or solo, adults. This includes people who are divorced, widowed, or married to people who are not Christians. Two-thirds of our first time visitors come to church by themselves. The New Testament has much to say about the calling of single adulthood at every age and stage of life, beginning with the example of our Lord himself.
Please come for a visit. Perhaps you will discover what many others have found, a church home. We’d appreciate the opportunity to be yours!
