Luke Link Director of Music Ministries
Hi, my name is Lucas Link. I first made music at Atonement in my early adolescence as a chorister with the young Praisemeisters (Atonement’s Children’s Chorus). I continued to be involved through my youth and into my young adulthood by singing in the various choirs, occasionally conducting them, working with the church band, and writing music for the congregation. During my undergrad, I briefly left the church to study Music Composition at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. During this time, I sang professionally at Old St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Baltimore. After my graduation, I returned to sing and work with the Atonement Choir while preparing applications for graduate studies in choral conducting. I am currently pursuing my MM in Choral Conducting at the University of Maryland, College Park where I work with the UMD Men’s Chorus and the University Chorale.
In addition to programming services and overseeing the greater Music Ministry at Atonement, I work closely with Dale Voelker (church organist), the Atonement Band, and the Atonement Choir (both volunteer groups, middle school and up). The various legs of Atonement’s Music Ministry work together to serve our congregation and assist in their expression of worship by presenting contemporary and traditional music. We sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs that glorify the Father, affirm the resurrection of His Son, and express our utter reliance on God for our salvation.
